MUDEK ACCREDITATION

The evaluation and accreditation of the undergraduate programs offered by our Faculty are carried out by the Association for Evaluation and Accreditation of Engineering Programs (MÜDEK). Degrees awarded by our MÜDEK-accredited undergraduate programs benefit from international recognition within the framework of the European Network for Accreditation of Engineering Education (ENAEE), of which MÜDEK is a member, and the Washington Accord.

The MÜDEK accreditation process at our Faculty began in 2010 with the accreditation activities of the undergraduate programs in Chemical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. As of 1 July 2026, a total of seven undergraduate programs hold MÜDEK accreditation:

  • Computer Engineering
  • Chemical Engineering
  • Bioengineering
  • Food Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Civil Engineering
  • Materials Science and Engineering

Following the successful completion of the accreditation processes of the undergraduate programs that applied to MÜDEK in January 2026 for initial evaluation, re-evaluation, or interim evaluation, the Faculty aims to increase the number of MÜDEK-accredited undergraduate programs to nine by 2027.

Within this framework, the Environmental Engineering Undergraduate Program is also planned to enter the MÜDEK accreditation process in 2027. The Faculty aims to complete the MÜDEK accreditation processes of all its undergraduate programs by 2028.

The current validity periods of the MÜDEK accreditations held by the undergraduate programs of our Faculty, as of 1 July 2026, are presented below:

 

To ensure that accreditation activities within the Faculty are conducted in a more systematic and coordinated manner, the following bodies were established by decisions of the Faculty Executive Board:

  • MÜDEK Accreditation Committee, established by Faculty Executive Board Decision No. 17/13 dated 14 May 2025
  • Quality and Accreditation Coordination Office, established by Faculty Executive Board Decision No. 26/23 dated 8 July 2026

Through this institutional structure, the Faculty aims to strengthen its quality culture, enhance coordination among departments, and carry out MÜDEK-oriented quality assurance activities more effectively. In this context, the continuous development of our engineering programs in accordance with national and international accreditation standards is supported, contributing to the education of graduates equipped with the knowledge and skills required to compete successfully at the global level.
