The Faculty of Engineering began offering undergraduate education in the 1998–1999 academic year. Today, the Faculty comprises ten departments: Computer Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Food Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Bioengineering, Energy Systems Engineering, and Environmental Engineering.

The Departments of Computer Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Food Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Bioengineering, and Environmental Engineering offer master’s and doctoral programs in addition to undergraduate education. The Department of Energy Systems Engineering offers undergraduate and master’s programs. The Faculty also contributes to interdisciplinary master’s and doctoral programs administered by the Graduate School.

In the 2025–2026 academic year, the Faculty has 3,536 undergraduate and 602 graduate students, including students enrolled in departmental graduate programs and interdisciplinary graduate programs supported by the Faculty. Undergraduate students may also benefit from double major and minor programs.

The Faculty has 115 faculty members and a total academic staff of 298. Its low student-to-academic staff ratio enables the delivery of high-quality education in relatively small classes and provides students with a close, interactive learning environment in which they can engage directly with faculty members.

As of 1 July 2026, the undergraduate programs in Computer Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, Food Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Materials Science and Engineering have been accredited by MÜDEK. MÜDEK is a signatory to the Washington Accord, alongside internationally recognized engineering accreditation organizations such as ABET in the United States and the Engineering Council in the United Kingdom. The Faculty aims to complete the accreditation of all its undergraduate programs by 2028.

The accredited programs have also been awarded the EUR-ACE® Label for the duration of their accreditation. These accreditations certify that the Faculty’s educational programs meet national and international quality standards and demonstrate that the knowledge, skills, and competencies acquired by its graduates are recognized both nationally and internationally.

The Faculty began its educational activities in the 1998–1999 academic year by admitting 20 undergraduate students to each of the Departments of Computer Engineering, Chemical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. In the 2025–2026 academic year, a total of 500 students were admitted to the Faculty’s undergraduate programs. The distribution of student quotas by department is as follows:
