The Engineering Faculty has started matriculating undergraduate students during the academic year of 1998-1999 and is comprised of ten departments which are Computer Engineering, Electrical-Electronics Engineering, Food Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and the recently established Material Science and Engineering, Bioengineering, Energy Systems Engineering and Environmental Engineering Departments. All the departments, with the exception of the recently established ones, provide education both at the graduate and undergraduate levels.

A total of 1334 undergraduate and 629 graduate students (349 students from the  departmental programs, 280 students from interdisciplinary programs) are currently enrolled at the faculty. Undergraduate students in our faculty also have the opportunity to study minor and double majors. Faculty has 86 faculty members and a total of 203 academic staff. With a small number of students per academic staff, the faculty has the opportunity to have small scaled classes and to conduct research and education in full interaction with students.

Undergraduate programs of Chemical and Mechanical Engineering Departments (September 2011-September 2016) and Computer Engineering Department (May 2012-September 2017) became accredited by the “Evaluation and Accreditation Board for Engineering Education (MUDEK) which is a member of Washington Accord which also has ABET, ECUK and many other international accreditation boards as members in its board. Accreditation of our departments certificates that our educated students meet the national and international quality standards and proves competence of our alumni in our country and abroad.

At the start of the academic year 1998-1999, 20 students were matriculated in Chemical, Mechanical and Computer Engineering Departments. In the academic year of 2014-2015, 45 undergraduate students were enrolled in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical-Electronics Engineering and Civil Engineering, 55 students in Computer Engineering Department, 40 students in Chemical Engineering Department  and 20 students in Food Engineering Department.
