DEAN’S MESSAGE
Dear students,
Welcome to the Engineering School established to provide research
oriented education in the fields of engineering disciplines. Hence, I give
my greetings to you. I hope, you can reach to the information about us
through this web site.
Izmir Insitute of Technology (IZTECH) has been progressing steadily
to become one of the leading research universities. The mission of the
Engineering School at IZTECH is to graduate students who can contribute to
the scientific knowledge world-wide and development of our national
technology. Graduates who have abilities to apply
scientific and engineering principles in conducting research, to work in
teams, to design, analyze, and report on the results, to
communicate effectively, and again graduates who have an appreciation of the
importance of professional and ethical responsibilities and are conscious
about environmental problems can be considered as milestones on the road
going to accomplish our goals.
The curriculum of each department provides professional training through
technical courses
and at the same time includes nontechnical courses to help you in
discovering and enhancing your intellectual abilities. In addition to
acquire a sufficient knowledge of engineering principles, it is necessary
for you to acquire some skills in human relations. Throughout your study at
the university, the methods required to obtain and then improve existing
knowledge are provided to you. You should then acquire skills to criticize
this knowledge and develop abilities in analyzing and solving the problems.
Our small student-to-faculty ratio, small sized classes allow students to
interact effectively with the faculty members. In addition,
our experienced and diverse faculty members who are acknowledged
leaders of research and teaching attract student’s attention to real life
engineering problems and teach solution strategies. Faculty members provide
a supportive and stimulating environment for increasing your success rate
and you are always their first priority.
In summary, our main philosophy is to teach basic concepts required in
professional life,help in enhancing your intellectual abilities and instill
critical and independent thinking, a desire for life-long learning and
professional ethics. By choosing one of the departments in the
Engineering
School, you have entered
